Every year, Nike has this special celebration called the Nike Air Max Day. During this time, Nike re-release classic Nike Air Max sneakers in their original colorways. This year, Nike is bringing the Nike Air Max 180 Ultramarine OG back out for the special occasion. We have last seen these classic back in 2013, and they are dropping again this week, along with the Nike Air Max 93 Dusty Cactus.
The Nike Air Max 180 History
The Nike Air Max 180 was introduced in 1991, designed by Tinker Hatfield, along with Bruce Kilgore, the designer of the Nike Air Force One. This sneaker featured 180 degrees of visible air cushioning, which gave athletes a softer and closer feel to the ground, and a sleeker design to ensure it’s popularity in the streets. Did you know that the Nike Air Max 180 was one of music artist Kanye West’s favorites, and that the sneaker played a part in his introduction to Nike??? The shoe was used on the very first Kayne West sneaker collaboration, with rumors stating that there are only a few samples out there.
Features Of The Shoe
This sneaker consists of a leather and mesh upper in white. It also features Ultramarine on the swooshes, outlining, and on the outsoles. You will then notice solar red touches on the heel portions of the sneaker, and the 180 AIR logos on the tongues.
