Hey, what’s going on everybody??? Are you ready for some good news??? The Air Jordan 6 PSG is releasing this week in the USA. It was originally released internationally last week, but now we are fortunate enough to get a stateside release.

The Jordan Brand and Paris Saint-Germain have come together for the second time to collaborate and produce this special sneaker. The Air Jordan 1 PSG  was the first sneaker to come out, will you be copping these also?? This colorway would be hard for you to turn down.

What Is The Paris Saint-Germain?

The PSG is a Paris-based French professional football club that was found in 1970. Since 1974, the French football team has played its home matches in the 47,929-capacity Parc des Princes in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, and plays in the French Professional League: Ligue 1. They have become the most successful French club in history by winning a total of 38 trophies. In Ligue 1, they have played 45 seasons since 1974, and even won a major European title. The PSG is regarded as the most popular football club in France, and one of the most widely supported teams in the whole world.

The PSG has won seven Ligue 1 titles, a record eight Trophee des Champions title, a record eight Coupe de la Ligue title, and a record twelve Coupe de France title, one Ligue 2 title, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, and one UEFA Intertoto Cup. They also have a huge rivalry with the Marseille Football club, the Olympique De Marseille. Both teams played against each other at Le Classique, which was France’s most violent football match.

As of now, the owner of PSG is Oryx Qatar Sports Investments (QSI). When QSI took over in 2011, this made PSG the wealthiest club in France, plus the world. They have the seventh-highest revenue in the football world, and are the world’s eleventh most valuable football club.

History Of The Air Jordan Brand

In 1984, Nike was a struggling shoe company looking for ways to appeal to a new segment of the shoe market, and to reinvent themselves. Nike has turned to rookie Michael Jordan to order to make an endorsement deal, but MJ showed no interest at all. MJ had plans to sign a deal with either Adidas or Converse; he loved the brands, and in North Carolina, these were the shoes that wore to play basketball in. Unfortunately, both of the brands rejected him.

Nike was offering to create a brand new line of shoes called Air Jordan, and MJ’s old agent, David Falk, saw this as a wonderful opportunity. MJ flew to the Nike headquarters in Portland, Oregon, after being convinced by his parents , and his agent. During his visit, Nike has shown him a special video presentation of his college career highlights, plus his high-flying Olympics moves with Pointer Sister’s “Jump” playing in the background. Peter Moore, Nike’s Old Head Designer, also shown MJ sketches of the Air Jordan 1, and apparel to go with it. It was featured in Black and Red, and MJ was very interested with these designs. He has stated: “I can’t wear these shoes, those are devil colors”.

MJ has decided to finally make a deal with Nike, and has signed a 5-year deal that was worth $2.5 million. MJ has fueled the success of Nike, and the Air Jordan Brand is still popular today.

The Air Jordan 6 History

The Air Jordan 6 was originally released way back in 1991. Michael Jordan has wore these during his first NBA title and won his first NBA Finals MVP.

The Air Jordan 6 was the first Jordan to feature a reinforcement around the toe of the sneaker. Tinker Hatfield has designed two holes on the top of the tongue, and “spoilers” on the back of the shoes. Hatfield has done this because MJ has been having issues with putting on the past five Jordan models (Air Jordan 1-5).

Like the Air Jordan 5, the Air Jordan 6 features clear rubber soles, making it the second Jordan to have this feature. The clear rubber soles on the 6 was built to be more solid, since there were complaints that kids that owned the Jordan 5 were falling because the soles would collect dust on the court, which made the sole slippery. The heel tab on the 6 was positioned to prevent it from hitting MJ’s Achilles Tendon. MJ’s number “23” was also incorporated on the sneaker as well.

When the 6 first came out in 1991, it was $125.00.

Features Of The Shoe

This sneaker features a color scheme of black, grey, and infrared 23. The sneaker is constructed with nubuck material, with grey and black covering it throughout. You will also notice hits of infrared on the lace locks, branding on the tongue, and the “PANAME” tags, which you can find located by the heel of the sneaker. Additionally, on the heel of each shoe, there are PSG medallions, and if you look closely on the lace locks, you will discover “Paris” and “75” printed on them.

Finally, you will notice “ICI C’EST PARIS” printed on the insoles as well.

Release Date

These shoes were originally released internationally on July 27th, but is releasing again this week in the US. They are releasing August 10th, for a retail price of $225.00. Come that day will be a great time to cop them if you missed out the last time.

  1. Those are some sick looking shoes, got a bit of a hiking boot feel to them as well.

Air Jordan 6 PSGs are a cool new looking boot, that reprises the memories from the original Air Jordans.

Paris St Germain are certainly one of the flavour of the month teams in Europe, so it is no surprise that linking this acronym to the shoe will see it take off.

This history of the Air Jordan brand is a critical selling point, there has been no other shoe like it.

    • Hello 👋, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site for more sneaker content!

  2. Firstly, PSG is my favorite football club but I never knew of the existence of the collaboration between this air Jordan brand and PSG. Wow! I never thought this brand go in line with football brands and not only basketball. However, a great overview into the life of the great Michael Jordan and his achievements. I would love to say that I will definitely add up this to my collections. My best basketball player coupled with my favorite football team. What an ecstasy!

  3. Whoaa! I never knew Air Jordan had a partnership with PSG. I’m a huge football fan and this excites me!

It’s fun looking back on the achievements of Michael Jordan. Thank you for this review and the shoes are insane! It looks so good. I like the logo at the back, combination of PSG logo and Air Jordan logo. Cool!

    • Hello Joe, thanks for the comment. Feel free to come back to my site for more sneaker news!!!

  4. I live in Los Angeles where people stand in line for hours waiting on the new shoe to drop. All of those people (I don’t do that) will be happy to see the new Air Jordan 6 PSG hit the stores.

Nike did use to struggle, however, nowadays that is a different story. Thanks to the signing of popular athletes the Nike brand has now become a brand in probably every home in the US if not around the world.

Thanks for sharing the information about the new Air Jordan’s!

    • Hello Joe, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site for more sneaker content!

  5. Thank you for another great sneaker review. You have a good writing style and I like how you include some of the background stories. When I saw that you said someone made slam dunks from the free throw line at first I thought that might be a typo but I actually looked it up on YouTube and I was really amazed that people can jump that far. That is really wild.

I myself am kind of simple when it comes to sneakers but I think that there will be a lot of people out there specifically looking for this type of sneakers and I hope that your website is able to help them find out more about it. A lot of people collect sneakers and also a lot of people just like to have some cool shoes so they can talk about it with their friends and stuff. So I think your website will help them a lot and I hope they find it.

Thanks again and I will probably be back again in the future. Take care.

  6. Wow, great article.  Love the shoes (I live in France and PSG is HUGE here – It is fantastic to hear that there is a collaboration between them and Michael Jordan).

    Great picture at the top, and good information about the shoe, the price etc.  I like the fact that you have given a bit of background on PSG and of course on Michael Jordan;

It was easy to navigate my way around your site and I think the layout works well.

    Best of luck!

  8. These are nice sneakers and the price is cool for me have. PSG has really done well in coming up with such a wonderful product in collaboration with the Jordan company for the public. The color is great and no doubt that it will look comfortable.

Jordan products have a good reputation and so far all the products that have been released are of high quality and I really respect their afford.

  10. Who doesn’t love Michael Jordan?  He is an awesome athlete and an amazing person.  That list of accomplishments was impressive!  Sometimes, even though you know that someone has a ton of accomplishments, somehow it just pops out at you like WOW when you actually see it in writing!  That list was like, “Woah!”  It’s funny, I used to balk when sneaker prices started going through the roof, but now a price like $225 doesn’t even seem bad.  It’s worth it!

    • Hello Babsie, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always come back and visit my site as I post blogs daily!

  11. Hi Ballard,
Thanks for your post. I’m surprised to see the new collection of shoes in this brand. All the shoes are looking very nice and seem to me that it would feel very comfortable. These shoes will be the best companion for the hikers because it has rubber soles. And you have said that its heel tab was positioned to prevent hitting. I think it would be the first choice of players.
Thank you for giving me the information.

    • Hello Snigdha, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site for more sneaker news!!

  12. Thank you for the info. I really like the monochrome design of Air Jordan 6 PSG. I missed the international release, so I don’t know if the sneaker is still available in nearest store (I don’t live in US). Well, I can try to buy it online. I want to add it for my monochrome sneakers collection. Keep up for the sneakers release news because I like to follow your articles here 🙂

    • Hello Al, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site for more sneaker content!!

  13. Quite a bit pricey for a pair of shoes but I understand this comes with the Air Jordan brand name and it’s not cheap, it’s high in class and of course, we can expect good durability over the long run. I will sacrifice my next beach travel for this as I really like the looks of it, it matches my personality and feels great having this.

I have this question that I’d like to ask with regard to this pair of shoes. My previous running shoes got worn out without using them. I just placed them in a cabinet after a single use and to my disappointment, after almost a year of non usage, when I finally wear again the shoes for a jog, they’re rotten. The pair tore down!

Would the same thing happen with Air Jordan 6 PSG if it got stuck inside a cabinet or box?

    • Hello Gomer, thanks for the comment. I happen to own a few pair of the Air Jordan 6s, and I keep them in storage. I haven’t worn them in a year, and they still look great. You should be okay if you purchase these and keep them in storage 👌.

  14. I have to tell you this was a great idea for a website. Jordan Sneakers is something every kid and young adults want. You have some great looking Jordan on your site. What I am trying to say is Great Job and I wish you all the success you can handle.

    • Hello 👋, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site for more sneaker content!

  15. Hi, your post is unique and educating because it is from the post that I learn the history and full meaning of PSG, I also learn about Michael Jordan’s career history, your post came at the right time because I just talked with my basketball coach last week and he listed what I needed for training among is the sneakers and I love the air Jordan which will be perfect on me. I will be sharing your post on my social media for my friends and coach to also benefit from it.

    • Hello 👋, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site for more sneaker content!

  16. Who doesn’t want to own a pair of Air Jordons! Such an iconic brand matched with one of the worlds greatest bball players of all time! My grandson is always talking about owning a pair of Air Jordans but could not afford it on what he earns so I would love to buy a pair for him. This is a beautiful pair and it wouldn’t really worry my grandson as to what colour or style he got as long as he has a pair of Jordans lol…

    • Hello Rina, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site for more sneaker 👟 content!

  17. I like your article.  I had a couple of glitches.  I assumed that the Air Jordan 6 PSG are tennis shoes, probably because of the picture of shoes.

So my comments are as you started out doing shoes then go over to talking about the PSG Football Team.  I became very confused by this.  I need to know why the PSG is even involved with the tennis shoes.  Your beginning left me searching my brain for what PSG had to do with the Jordan, and why was MJ involved with PSG.  I understood the tennis shoes.

Next question; are the French playing Football like we do in America?  I know the English call soccer football, but as an American I don’t think either one of them are anything like the other. I am not a sports fan, but I am a fan of MJ and his Jordan tennis shoes. So can you clear this part up for us non-sports followers?

A couple of areas that did not read smoothly.

          1.  History of the Air Jordan Brand.

3rd sentence after (and in North Carolina, these were the shoes that (he)  is missing)

         2.  The Air Jordan 6 History

3rd paragraph, 2nd sentence (since there were complaints (by the) kids that owned the Jordan 5.  It would read smoother is you replaced those words in that area.

As far as the article goes It flowed really nice except for the above sentences.  I enjoyed reading what you wrote and I was able to follow it all the way through with out being bored.  That is something great for me.  I did look at the site the post sent me to, that was even very nice.

    I hope this helps,

  18. Wow, isn’t this just awesome, I haven’t heard of this beautiful looking pair but just looking at pictures of it and watching the video I know definitely that come August 10th which is tomorrow, when it’ll be released here in USA, I’ll definitely be getting one of this beauties. Thanks for the review and the added info about Paris Saint Germain.

    • Hello Henderson, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site as I post content daily!

  19. Hello Ahmed Ballard

What a great content.! I am really surprised that any shoe brand may has such a big history. PSG is one of my favourite football club. I also prefer the Air Jordan 6 PSG to any brand for it’s stylish looking and long lasting assurance. You are really great that you informed us not only about the nice looking shoe but also about  the behind history of this international brand.

Thank you very much for sharing such an informative post. I definitely share this post with friends and family.

    • Hello Mona, thanks for the comment. Feel free to always check out my site for more sneaker news!!

  20. I’ve always wanted a pair of Air Jordans. I’ve owned different sneakers and basketball shoes (mostly vans and converse though) but I’ve never had the chance to try on a pair of AJs. They’re pretty hard to find where I live, and online shopping adds some pretty hefty shipping fees.

The AJ 6 PSG only makes me want them more – aarrgghh
