Air Jordan and Solefly have collaborated to create an alternate version of the Air Jordan 17 Low Lighting. Solefly is a sneaker boutique located in Glenvar Heights, Florida. The Air Jordan 17 Low Lighting x Solefly is also set to drop during All-Star Weekend. During the 2002 All-Star Basketball Game, Michael Jordan has debuted the Air Jordan 17 Low Lighting during his time with the Washington Wizards. This was MJ’s 13th time appearing at the All-Star Game. Who’s planning to get these???
The Air Jordan 17 History
The Air Jordan 17 was first introduced back in 2001-2002, designed by Wilson Smith III. Michael Jordan was the President of Basketball Operations for the Washington Wizards. He has resigned from the position in order to sign a player contract for the Wizards during the 2001-2002 game season. Did you know that the Air Jordan 17 was inspired by Jazz music??? On the upper of the shoe, you will notice there are music notes on the lace covers. Another inspiration of the sneaker is luxury cars; mainly being Aston Martin, featuring premium details from the car. Lastly, there was another inspiration of the sneaker; golf, which MJ loves. It was designed to look like a golf course; it features fairways, greens, and sand traps. The Air Jordan 17 comes equipped with mid-foot straps that are removable, zoom air soles, dynamic-fit sleeves, hidden lace system, lack locks, leather uppers, and carbon-fiber sheath. The sneaker was originally retailed at $200.00!!! This was the highest pair of Air Jordans during the time, and left a lot of people in shock. They also came with a metal carrying case, and a CD. The CD included commercials, and marketing materials for the sneaker. The low versions of the sneaker cost $150.00, and the mule version cost $100.00.
Features Of The Shoe
This shoe features an overall of lighting yellow on the upper, along with chrome on the heel counters and eyelets. It also features a black translucent midsole, black inner bootie, Solefly branding on the heels, and Solefly’s signature on the insoles.
These gorgeous sneakers are dropping on February 16th, for $225.00. This will be a limited release without a doubt. Don’t sleep on these if they are on your wish list!!!
